From the AP:

"With 95 percent of the state's votes tallied, California's Proposition 8 passed with 52 percent of the votes (close to 5.2 million); 48 percent of voters rejected the measure. In Florida, Proposition 2, known as the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment, passed with 62 percent approval and only 38 percent voting against it. This amendment to the state's constitution will "protect marriage as the legal union of only one man and one woman as husband and wife," while providing that "no other legal union that is treated as marriage or the substantial equivalent thereof shall be valid or recognized.' Arizona's Proposition 102, which will amend that state's constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman, was also approved by 56 percent of voters. And in Arkansas, gays and lesbians suffered another defeat, as a proposed ban on unmarried couples adopting or providing foster care for children passed with 57 percent voter approval."
